Hamish and Dougal, two elderly Scotsmen played by Barry Cryer and Graeme Garden, have for many years been a popular feature of the the hit BBC Radio 4 comedy show I`m Sorry I Haven`t a Clue. Now they`ve got their own series. Regular characters appearing with Hamish and Dougal include Mrs Naughtie, a cleaning lady-cum-housekeeper played by Alison Steadman, and a local laird played by Jeremy Hardy. In these four episodes which comprise the first series, first broadcast at Christmas 2002, Dougal hosts a musical evening (at which Mrs Naughtie performs her Dance of the Seven Voles), Mrs Naughtie`s sudden disappearance causes concern, Hamish finds a love rival, and Hamish & Dougal assist in summoning up the heavy armaments for an afternoon`s shooting on the moors.
