It`s the 1990`s but halfway down an alleyway TV repairman Gary Sparrow (Nicholas Lyndhurst), finds himself in 1940 where people are behaving so realistically that it must be a fantastic dream. until an air raid proves that it isn`t!. Temporarily forgetting Yvonne (Michelle Holmes), his ambitious and bossy wife, Gary finds a dream of his own in the form of the beautiful but also married Phoebe (Dervla Kirwan). Eager to keep the dream alive, he fortunately discovers that he can go back and forth between the 1940`s and 1990`s at will. All 6 episodes of the first series:-. `RITES OF PASSAGE` - The first ever episode in the series which marks Gary`s first trip into the 1940`s. `FOOLS RUSH IN` - Gary invests in some period clothing to make his next visit more convincing. `IS YOUR JOURNEY REALLY NECESSARY?` - Gary and Phoebe spend the night together in an underground shelter, meanwhile Yvonne is worried: why isn`t Gary home?. `THE MORE I SEE YOU` - Gary`s struggling to keep up his double life and is torn between his feelings for Phoebe and Yvonne. `I GET ALONG WITHOUT YOU VERY WELL` - A news item about a Phoebe Sparrow, a plucky East End pensioner, encourages Gary, against his better instinct, to go back to the 1940`s. `IN THE MOOD` - Gary arranges a romantic night at the Savoy with Phoebe, but nothing ever goes the way you plan.
